An exhibition of humorous art with “Cool Japan” as theme at The Japan Newspaper Museum

An interesting exhibition with a theme on “Cool Japan” (「一枚マンガのクールジャパン展」(ichimai manga no cool Japan ten))is going on at Japan Newspaper Museum in Yokohama until June 14, 2015.

“Cool Japan” is a PR strategy lead by the government to promote “soft power” of Japan both at home and abroad. “Soft power” refers to wide area of creative-based industries including Japanese pop culture such as anime, manga, idols, as well as traditional crafts, tourism, and food.

This exhibition displays 60 art pieces by 30 manga artists and illustrators depicting “Cool Japan” from their point of view with some humor and critical spirits.

Closed on Mondays (except on May 4) and May 7,2015
