It has been two weeks since June 10, when Japan officially opened its doors to foreign group tourists, and many tourists have come back to Japan in these two weeks. A questionnaire survey was conducted for Japanese members with the theme “When the new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic is over, which prefecture in Japan would you most like to travel to?” buy a large Japanese travel booking site 「アソビュー!」in January 2022. Guess who the top three are, and compare your thoughts with those of Japanese people.

Okinawa (23.11%)

Hokkaido (18.47%)

Tokyo (5.03%)

From top to bottom, they are

• Because there are places to go and things to do（47.71％）
• Because I have been there before and it was good（17.25%）
• Because there is someone I want to meet（9.76％）

For each region, the respondents also gave their reasons accordingly.

For the top three, the reasons given most by respondents are:

• Marine sports in Okinawa
• Gourmet food in Hokkaido
• Theme parks in Tokyo

Osaka Prefecture (4.73%), Chiba Prefecture (3.47%), and Kyoto Prefecture (3.45%) are the next in 4th place, and are basically urban areas. The website speculates that this is due to the fact that many people’s travel is restricted during the epidemic and they can’t travel to and from big cities as easily as before.

Nagano prefecture (3.15%) ranked seventh and Shizuoka prefecture (2.76%) ranked eighth, with most of the reasons for wanting to go there being “hiking” or “hot springs”.
